A plague doctor leans in out of the dark with the beak mask lit along its edges and one lens burning green, a gloved hand extended toward you and a fistful of instruments held down at his side.
He does not set his own hours. He goes where the list says, in the order the list says it, and the list has been getting longer since March. There was no hazard pay. There was never any discussion of hazard pay. The mask was his own idea and he paid for it himself.
